tupac wrote a song about a letter to his unborn child many moons ago and while i never did that, i’m starting to think what a treasure it would be to collect written letters to my girls now, for them to read when they are older.
i love hand written notes. letters. thoughts on paper from one person to another. it’s an intimate thing. a private thing. a short note of thanks, appreciation, congratulations. it’s a love-spreading, tale-sharing, encouraging-thing.
think about it. if you had a note on your desk right now, sealed, with your name on it. wouldn’t you want to dive in and read it? wouldn’t you want to know what it said? wouldn’t you then be so pleased to have this little keepsake of love?
i have notes from so many years, pictures with writing on the back, cards and postcards that i have stashed here and there. i don’t always have time to read them, but its nice to know they are there and that moment was shared.
i give notes too. maybe not as many as i could. if i’m thinking about how nice it makes me feel to get a note, then of course it would feel good to give them as well.
so anyway. i figure this is a good chance to use up some of the notecards i have, made and received, from over the years. and find some new and notable ones along the way too. no pun intended! seriously though there are some pretty rad stationary co’s out there like this, this and this.
first up are these cute animal cards from gus and abby that i got soo long ago in my blogshop goodie bag. in daani’s note i wrote to her about how gentle she can be as well as her potty situation and niyya’s was about her growing teeth and how she now throws tantrums. yup, we’re in that phase.
i love the pretty glassine envelopes they came with. and the little heart sticker seals!
do you write notes? to friends, family, loved ones, clients? on special occasions or just because? what stationary are you loving and think i should check out?

I love it. I keep every letter and love sending letters. I love making my own cards as well.
I was wondering if I could include some of your words and pictures in a book I’m working on where real people who write share about writing. It’s to inspire people to write. It’s very visual with pictures of writing spaces and tools. So far 100 people are part of it and I’d love to include you.
Your name, age and location will be included and all credit goes to you.
All good if you want to decline, just thought I’d check.
Kind regards, JD
hello! yes you can include me in your book. it sounds great! here is the info you need: tahsin dhirani, 33. toronto. I’m even signing up for this postcard retrieval and sending program where you can become or pals with random people around the world! it’s a nice way to practice writing and share love near and far. it’s called post crossing. have you heard of it?
Thank-you so much! I’m so glad. No, haven’t heard of it. Might have to check it out!
