“a portrait of my daughters, once a week, every week, in 2014.”
daaniya : this one is always either coming or going, climbing up or down something. it’s pretty amazing how much she has grown since niyya was born.
niyya : waiting for her diaper to be changed. legs up and lots of smiles.
i’m making progress people! this weeks photos are from my digital camera! yeah! my excitement is short-lived because i’m not completely happy with the pics. i don’t know if i said it before, but whenever i used my dslr camera before i would shoot in automatic mode. i know, shameful! especially since i took at least two semesters of photography in university. i really should know better. so this week I pushed myself to shoot with my camera, and because automatic isn’t cutting it anymore (I way prefer the outcome of my iphone plus minor editing vs automatic on the dslr,) i shot in the manual mode. turns out all my pics had this gross blue cast on them. which lead to major edits and an only slightly less bluish and grainy result.
anyway, my goal this year is not to master manual mode shooting, but to get pretty darn good at it. today i managed to get some time to play around and i have to say i’m looking forward to next weeks post. i think i found the antidote to the blue and a few other tips. and like I said before, insh with each passing week the photos will get better and better. the subject matter too!
anyone have any quick tips for shooting manually? share with me. it will save me time and research. and i’ll be forever grateful!
oh yeah, and this moment was too precious to pass up.
