a few years ago the husband and i went to morocco as a quick getaway tacked onto a trip to london for a cousins wedding. i was in interiors heaven. i swear it was amazing. the rugs, the light fixtures, the tassels, the ceramics, the stones. i could go on. we went on a rug tour and saw some of the most beautiful hand woven rugs i have ever seen. the colours, the weave, the irregular shape of them. they were so up my alley. i was this close to purchasing one to have shipped over but my other half thought we were jumping the gun.
you see, we had just purchased our house which was being built for the coming year. meaning we had never stepped foot in it, hadn’t planned for any of the interiors or colourways or anything. and you know it’s really hard to feel a space solely off of a floor plan. so i reluctantly agreed with him and we moved in to purchase some other non-committal items.
last night i was searching for a few things off west elm and came across some of their found gems. their prices are a bit steep to me considering i was in the souk bargaining for rugs at a fraction of west elms’ price, but for now even eyeing these online satiates me.
please, if you ever find yourself in that wonderful place of fragrant scents and woolen home goods, do not, i repeat, DO NOT leave without a rug.
pick one up for me too, k?

thats one of the top reasons i’ve always wanted to go to morocco. for their rugs and carpets!!!
Husbands are always so rational!! (Probably a good thing in some ways)I have been wanting to go to morocco for as long as I can remember. Partly for sight seeing but mostly the souks/shopping! I’ll write up a list of things to buy according to your recommendations :)
