if you read my post the other day about my happy birthday workshop, you’ll know i had a great time! i went to this making-session with my favourite girls. it can be hard as a mama to get out and have some quality time with friends. i do get out. spend time with friends, but nine times out of ten i have my little mini’s in tow. it’s cool, but i relished in this me-time. you know how it is.

I would bring one of my best friends. I’m trying to get her to do more things out of her comfort zone and i think this would be a great way to do it. plus, i’ve always wanted to make a terrarium!

I would bring my best girlfriend, Nance, who like me, has two of the worst green thumbs in the world.. we’re hoping a terrarium class will kick start the magic!
If I win, I would bring my little sister Cristina with me. We have both been beaten by university these past 8 months and neither of us have had time to explore our collective hobby and love of plants and gardening because we are so busy! I’d like to spend 2 hours with her at Crown Flora because we live in different cities and I rarely get to spend quality time with her, and the fact that we would be planting (which is our favourite thing to do together the few times I am home in the summer) is just an added bonus!

i’d love to spend 2 hours with my sister because she has faced a lot of hurdles in her life of 28 years so far. everything from bullying, racism, sexism, islamophobia, social rejection, abuse, and unfortunately, much more.
even still, while she had a lot of hurt from those situations, she overcame them all by learning how to successfully heal from the past. she is now an entrepreneur, running her own styling, make-up and personal shopping service. i am so proud to call her my sister, mother, and best friend.

I would love to bring my amazing new friend Karina to this workshop! I moved to toronto about 6 months ago and she was one of the first friends I made. We both share a love of plants and art, and have both recently moved to new apartments that could really use some green!! We’ve been talking about doing the workshop for some time, but neither have the money to spend on it, so this giveaway would be amazing!!!! We don’t get to see each other often because of our schedules, so a designated 2 hours to hang and create something beautiful would be absolutely lovely!

oh man! this is the best contest. I was thinking about going to crown flora for my own birthday this month - with my best friend mel. I am going wall climbing for my party, but my best fried is super pregnant and can’t join. we also don’t get to spend much time together these days as we’re both busy and soon she’ll be a mom! it would be special quality time for us that would be so very wonderful.

I would take my 12 year old niece Sarah (aka susu). She loves any form of arts and crafts, using her hands, and being creative. Mashallah, she is so talented and special in many ways. This year she has made me so proud of her for enduring many social hardships and challenges at school, yet staying strong and true to her beliefs. I love spending time with her because she reminds me how much fun and adventurous being a child can be! She will be so psyched if we won….well I won, and she joined along. thanks for the opportunity!
I would love to take my boyfriend of 4 years because he has done so much for me and given me the world and I always feel that I haven’t given back to him as much as he deserves. I feel in love with these unique terrariums when I first saw them at Crown Flora and got my first one from my boyfriend. I would love to fill my home with more of them being a huge nature lover. I would love to take my good friend Kelly, we’ve really bonded from our mutual group of friends over our love for gardening and terrariums. When I first found out about Crown Flora and told my friend group about it, she was the only one who immediately was on board to check them out with myself. That was probably one of the first moments we had truly bonded over something just the two of away from the others! I would jump at the chance to spend 2 hours learning with one of the greatest friends i’ve made and couldn’t want anything more then to learn more about her while learning about one our passions: teraruims.
